Superhero Spaghetti

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound 96% lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1 cup each shredded carrot and zucchini
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can petit diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1 teaspoon each salt and garlic salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 drops Tabasco sauce (or to taste)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 (12 oz) package Barilla Plus spaghetti noodles

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In large Dutch oven, brown ground beef over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, carrot and zucchini. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring to incorporate vegetables.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients, except spaghetti. Simmer mixture over low heat for 5 minutes. Break spaghetti noodles in half and add (uncooked). Cover pot tightly, reduce heat, and simmer on lowest setting for 30 minutes. Uncover and simmer an additional 10 minutes.
