Hamburger-Stuffed French Bread

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf French Bread, unsliced
  • 1 pound 96% lean ground beef
  • ½ cup green pepper, finely diced
  • ½ cup celery, finely sliced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can Cheddar Cheese Soup
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shreds
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Slice top ½ inch of French bread. Hollow remaining bread being careful to leave ½ inch of crust for shell. Tear bread that has been removed from center into pea-sized breadcrumbs to make 2 cups (there will be some bread left).
  3. Brown ground beef over medium heat until crumbled. Stir in remaining ingredients, except cheese shreds. Simmer 5 minutes. Gently stir breadcrumbs into meat mixture and place into bread shell. Sprinkle with grated cheese and replace bread top.
  4. Carefully wrap entire loaf in aluminum foil and bake on baking sheet for 10 minutes or until loaf in heated through.
  5. With bread knife, cut into 8 slices and serve.
