When we think of hydration, water may be the first thing that pops into our minds. We all know our body needs it and that it is always the best choice, but often we do not choose to consume it during the day.
Proper hydration can be achieved through fluids and food. According to USDA National Nutrient Database, good sources of water can be found in melons, cabbage, celery, lettuce, fruit, avocados, cottage cheese, baked potato, and even shrimp.
As summer temperatures continue to get hotter, our hydration needs increase. Staying properly hydrated throughout the day will aid metabolism, eliminating waste, regulating body temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure. So grab a glass of cold water and listen to your body say thank you!
