Taking Time for Gratitude

Sit for a moment with me. Curl up in your favorite chair and relax. What do you see as you look around the room? Souvenirs of past journeys? Pictures of family and friends? The view from the window? A favorite book? What story does the room tell about the blessings of your life? When you feel that it is difficult to sense the presence of God – or whatever name you give to the spiritual being in your life – sit and observe the blessings of your life. Take time daily to jot down three things that went well and the impact they had on you. You’ll find from this simple exercise of keeping a gratitude journal your feelings of wellbeing and contentment will increase.
